In this article, we’ll guide you through a few simple steps to plan a trip with FindPenguins. Just follow the instructions below to set up your trip:
Before the trip
- Create a new trip with the planned future start date and, optionally, an end date.
-
Now, add footprints for the places you plan to visit, selecting a future date for each. A “planned” switch will automatically appear, enabled but not editable.
-
You can now freely enter any information and upload travel documents (e.g., tickets).
-
Planned footprints are private and visible only to you and your fellow travelers.
-
On our maps, straight lines connect these planned footprints. For more detail on your route, use our Edit Route feature to make further adjustments.

During the trip
When the date of a planned footprint arrives, edit it to add your travel stories, photos, and videos. Turn off the “planned” switch, which is now enabled for editing. The footprint will convert to a non-planned one, become visible according to your privacy settings, contribute to your statistics, and notify your followers with a push notification.
After the trip
By the end of your trip, all planned footprints should be converted. If any remain, it’s recommended to delete them.
Next, use our Edit Route feature to remove the planned route. You can select a range of waypoints to delete at once, so it’s not necessary to delete each waypoint individually.
