Once a book is in production, we can no longer cancel your order free of charge. We understand that this can be frustrating. Here’s why:
Why printing cannot be stopped
Before production, your book exists only as a digital file and an order in our system, so it can still be changed or cancelled.
Once it is sent to print, it becomes a physical manufacturing job and is produced automatically by our printing facilities in Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Australia. This process is automated and starts very quickly after an order is placed.
Print-on-demand facilities produce many orders together in high-speed batches. Pages from different customers are printed on the same sheets and separated later.
Once printing has started, individual books can no longer be removed without stopping the machines. This would require manual intervention by multiple staff members, waste significant amounts of paper and ink, and disrupt other customers’ orders.
In such cases, the cost of cancelling an order would be higher than the actual production cost of the book.
Our commitment
If you contact us before production starts, we are able cancel or amend your order. Once production has begun, however, it is no longer possible to stop or cancel it. We will always do our best to support you and find fair solutions where possible.
Did you contact us in time?
FindPenguins does not currently offer 24/7 worldwide support. We typically respond within 1–48 hours.
If we see your cancellation request in time, we will do everything we can to cancel your order. However, we cannot always guarantee that we will process your message before the order moves forward.
How can I make sure this doesn’t happen?
Please review your preview carefully before placing your order. We print your book exactly as shown in the preview.
If your printed book does not match the preview, you will receive a free reprint.
